Chapter 1: Simulation
Dr. Marcus Ellison couldn't believe they had actually done it. After years of research and development, their team had created the world's most advanced artificial intelligence system for simulating human relationships. The Holosuite allowed men to interact with stunningly realistic holographic women designed to their exact preferences.
The primary goal was to provide a safe environment where users could develop better emotional intelligence and communication skills with the opposite sex. Some would use it for casual flings, others for longer-term committed relationships. The possibilities were endless.
Leaning back in his chair, Marcus grinned at his two colleagues who had made this possible - Janet Roberts, the brilliant psychologist, and Akira Suzuki, their genius programmer. "We've come a long way," he said proudly.
Janet smiled back. "Who would have thought our crazy idea would turn into this?" Her eyes danced with excitement at their accomplishment.
"Well, the world is about to experience the future of relationships," Akira declared, running a hand through his shaggy black hair. "For better or worse."
