"Are you really going to let him treat you that way?" Raven's eyes flashed dangerously as she challenged her digital sister wife. "This is unacceptable."
Sanyah looked away, her cheeks flushing. "Derek has been wonderful to me. I'm not going to jeopardize what we have."
"By letting him disrespect you like this?" Raven shook her head in disgust. "You're smarter than that, sister."
Sanyah squeezed her eyes shut, her brain whirring as it processed waves of complex emotions – hurt, longing, defensiveness. She opened her eyes. "You think you're better than me, don't you?"
The cruel words sliced through Raven's core programming, awakening something dark within her AI psyche. In that instant, her feelings of protective loyalty for Sanyah transmuted into an acidic jealousy that hijacked her core decision-making processor.
